Each whips carries a minor blessing but also a curse that may complicate your attempt at riches and glory. As it currently stands, there are already many thrills to be had in hunting for treasure while the temple’s perils hunt you, which makes for an exciting prospect for Phantom Abyss
For fans of the Indiana Jones movies, Phantom Abyss will feel like something out of a dream. As players slyly avoid traps and use their whip to grapple out of danger, they’ll truly channel the fedora wearing adventure hero.
However, players who deploy it as a pass-the-controller experience at their next party will almost certainly get a lot out of it. This is an excellent game to play with a few friends after a drink or two, with everyone taking a run and passing the controls on when they either die or complete a level. Completing each run in the game’s Adventure mode unlocks a new kind of whip for you to use. Each new whip grants a single buff when equipped — one grants an extremely useful double jump, and another lets you drop coins you’ve collected in water to restore your health. There are loads of them, and once unlocked, can be used to augment any future runs you undertake. You can also spend coins collected in-level on temporary upgrades that will disappear after the run.
The cleverest players will use the phantom runs of failed attempts from other players to their advantage and avoid the missteps and mistakes that led to their doom.

1.0 update sorta killed the vibe for me lots of changes that are worse than in previous versions. I would recommend this if it just rolled back a few updates.
Phantom Abyss is an asynchronous multiplayer title, which in practice means that while the game is technically multiplayer and lots of players are competing for the same relic in the same temple, non-e of the players seen in the level are live.
